How to make dump cake?
Ok- we know the name isn’t too appealing. But after you taste this cake, you’ll forget all associations with dumping!
Notes:
Is she expecting a baby boy? Serve this cake and decorate your venue with toy dump trucks. Consider filling the back of a truck with snack mix or baby shower mints.
Ingredients
- 1 21-ounce can of cherry pie filling
- 1 15-ounce can of crushed pineapple
- 1 package yellow cake mix
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- Nuts and coconut, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In 9 x 13-inch pan, dump cherry pie filling, pineapple, and yellow cake mix, in layers.
- Sprinkle on nuts and coconut if desired.
- Next, cut butter into pats and lay on top of cake mix.
- Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your oven.
- Allow to cool before serving.
- This cake needs no frosting, but consider topping it with whipped cream.
