How to make Sloppy Joe’s?
There’s no doubt about it! Sloppy Joe’s are a crowd favorite. Also called a bar-b-que, we add cola to give this recipe a little kick.
My thoughts:
This male-friendly recipe works well for a baby shower for fathers. Any guy will swoon over a BBQ!
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 2/3 cup ketchup
- 3/4 cup Coke or Pepsi (not diet)
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Dice the onion.
- In a heavy saucepan, brown beef and onion.
- Drain excess fat.
- Add rest of ingredients and allow to simmer for at least 30 minutes.
- Serve with hamburger buns and pickles.
