How to make a salad bar?
Setting up a salad bar at your shower allows guests to create their own custom-made meal. This easy idea will satisfy the pickiest of guests!
This menu idea is great when combined with the idea to create a menu from mom’s name. Choose salad toppings to spell out your honoree’s name!
My thoughts:
This light menu idea is perfect for the not-so-light nine months pregnant baby shower.
Ingredients
Serve up a variety of the following lettuces.
- Iceberg
- Spinach
- Romaine
- Arugula
Your salad bar will be judged by its toppings. Here're some ideas:
- Rainbow pasta
- Shredded carrots
- Green and red pepper
- Shredded cheese
- Hard boiled eggs
- Ham, turkey or chicken deli meats
- Beans (black, garbanzo, etc.)
- Olives and capers
- Croutons and Bacon bits
- Variety of Dressings
Instructions
- All ingredients can be pre-prepped.
- Make sure to rinse all vegetables and lettuces.
- Display each salad topper in an individual bowl.
- Refrigerate all ingredients before serving.
