How to make spiced pecans?
Yummy, sweet pecans are served as a baby shower nibbler. No one can resist! Integrate these treats into your shower by serving them in bags or cups matching your shower decor.
Notes:
Wrap up little bags of spiced pecans and give out as party favors.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups pecans
- 2 tsp. vegetable oil
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Toss pecans with vegetable oil until evenly coated.
- Place on flat baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Refrigerate it.
- Combine sugar, cinnamon, salt and water in a heavy saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Boil mixture until it comes to the soft ball stage (236 degrees Fahrenheit.)
- Remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Add pecans and mix until evenly coated.
- Place pecans onto waxed paper or aluminum foil and separate with a fork.
